-- Major power disruptions throughout the city of Los Angeles, according to the L.A. Fire Department.
Dear CNN,
Instead of sending us into a state of panic just so you can be the first to report an event, how's about you wait two seconds and find out the cause of the disruptions so you can report that to us?! You KNOW we all automatically think everything is the result of terrorists, no need for you to feed our fear!!!!
Respectfully,

The problems could be due to rolling blackouts or just plain old power outages resulting from heavy use: things inland can get hot, and with everyone and his dog running their a.c. all the time, our power grid gets sapped easily. It's happened here (south of L.A.) twice already this summer, and they've warned of possible rolling blackouts before, but never made good on the threats. We also had rolling blackouts a few years ago. Not uncommon here.
And, see? You live there so you know that, but the rest of us who live in places where the power only goes out during a snowstorm or when someone hits an electricity pole don't know what to make of CNN's warning. I did see there was an article that made sure to point out that it was not terrorism, but their "breaking news" is a little less than informative. I should unsubscribe...
No, nothing romantic like terrorism or rolling blackouts. I read this morning that it was just some eejit at the plant making a mistake, and that it was all his fault.
CNN probably had a slow newsday so they were probably dying to find SOMETHING to put in the breaking news category. What a lot of desperadoes.
