Demoted.

You remember back in school when one of the popular kids got kicked out of "the in crowd" for some random reason unknown by the banished clique-mate, but vicious rumors spread around school about what that reason might be? Please leave a comment about what your favorite fantasy (err, I mean rumor!) is for the ejection.

I would, but I can't repeat it here. Our school was rude and crude and THANK GOD it was never said about me. But I was never in the in crowd enough to get talked about or demoted. Baaahah! Loserdom has its advantages.

This probably doesn't really fit but it's funny so I'm sharing it anyway.

We were in, oh, 9th grade I think when there was a rumor that this kid in our class had sex with his dog. The thing was, it was his brother that was telling everyone. Which was really stupid because they were IDENTICAL TWINS and no one could tell them apart. The rest of the year whenever either of them went anywhere people would bark at them.

Ours had to do with the cheerleaders. Cheerleader A had a boyfriend. Cheerleader B slept with the boyfriend while girl cheerleader A was on vacation somewhere warm and tropical. Cheerleader A stayed with boyfriend. Cheerleader B was vaguely ostracized but then let back in after some sort of cheerleader pennance had been served.

I like how in the episode of Friends with Brad Pitt, we find out that there was a rumor going around that Rachel was a hermaphrodite. I am trying to think of real life examples, but I must have blocked them from my memory...

I cannot believe that I was reminiscing about the Friends episode with Brad Pitt just yesterday and you brought up that episode! I swear I'm slightly psychic sometimes.

I think this card was on PostSecret this week. Here goes:
When I was a senior there was a rumor that I was dating a freshman. Oh, wait, that was true! But some people didn't like it and spread nasty rumors about us anyway!
Peace............

If you click the photo it takes you to my flickr page which properly credits PostSecret, an oversight that I didn't credit them in the post itself. I shall correct that. I am not the one who sent that postcard. If I sent a postcard to PS it definitely wouldn't be from that angle - I was the teased one, not the one who teased.
