Strawberry blonde
Now hear this: On Tuesday, October 18 at 6:15pm I will allow my favoritest stylist in the entire universe to paste goo into my hair and then wrap my gooey hair into foil packets all for the sake of changing my hair color from mousy browny dirty blonde to hot mama strawberry blonde. I can't wait. And, to all my friends who stick their nose in the air at people who have their hair colored: Bite me. I'll get new friends. Wheeeeee!

Don't look at me... I haven't seen my natural hair color in over half my life. Although at one point as a child my hair was this color. Have fun!
WHO on earth sticks their nose up at that??! I'm with Maman - I don't even know what my real hair color is. You're going to love it, and you're going to become so addicted.
I'll tell you exactly who sticks their nose up at me - the friends who don't know I have a blog because I can't be myself in front of them so I have to write to total strangers who end up being better friends than those who see me in "real" life. The last time I lightened my hair just with one of those hair mousses that gradually lighten your color one of my friends said in an accusatory tone to me "you colored your hair!" as he shook his pointed finger at me.
So, thank you for your support, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to need to tell any of my blogger friends to bite me, it just feels good declaring it. :)
I am reclaiming my life, I'm going to wear what I want, color my hair how I want, wear jewelry, makeup, and perfume if I want, and admit to liking the colors pink, purple, fuchsia, yellow, and magenta. It's time to live my life for me, and not be worried about what others will think about me being me.
*cheering*
I've been coloring my hair since I was 13 and honestly couldn't remember what my real color was (I've been everything from bleach blonde to purple to black to red, etc) so last year I said "no more!". Turns out it's a reddish/chestnut color, but now I have a few greys. Everyone recommended I pluck them but I've kinda grown to like them. Once in a while, when I'm looking in the mirror, and the light hits them just right, they sparkle. :)
Are you going to show us a before & after picture?
Poppy, Poppy, Poppy! Go, girl! What the heck is all this about people messing with you because of what you like and how you look and who you are? There's a word for people like that, and it's not friends, that's for sure!
Enjoy the new hair. I'm sure it'll look fantastic on ya. =)
Woohoo! ROCK STAR! Please post a pic of the color - just a strand! I won't ask you to send us a lock or anything . . . I'm not THAT stalker-y. ;) GOOD LUCK!
Yay! Good for you!
It's amazing what a new color/cut will do for your self-esteem. And then some jerk-off comes along and crushes it. Damn them!
We don't care what color your hair is, we love you just the same! :)
A change of hairstyle/color can sometimes make the world seem like a new place. Good luck!
Everybody - You all rock!! Thanks for your support.
P'nut - if my hair were pretty in its natural state I'd leave it. I have grey hairs as well, but I am not ashamed of those. I think they're beautiful. I just want my hair to sizzle instead of...okay, I'll rhyme...fizzle.
Bryan - No boxed color, I don't want to turn my hair green or make it fall out by mistake. My stylist knows what she's doing and I love to chat with her. Also, when she washes my hair I become so relaxed that I almost fall asleep. :)
Oregano - You, Sir, are a trouble-maker. ;)
AliceBabylon - In my 20s I had hair almost all the way down my back. In my 30s I'm too bothered to take care of it. :) Congrats on being brave enough to chop it off!
Sweetie, they aren't friends if they don't want you to be *you*!
Can't wait to see the new color, if we're so lucky to get a pic of it!
