Caterpillar savior

It's hot here. The caterpillars, for whatever reason, choose to flock to hot pathways. They cook in the sun, their feet glue to the surface, and they bake to death.

I am traumatized by the thought, so whenever I see caterpillars walking around on hot surfaces I save as many as possible by having them walk onto my hand or something flat I happen to be carrying then I gently (or, not so gently if they won't let go) place them into nearby grass. I know many people think that caterpillars are pests, but if a human child were standing barefoot on a hot road surface I wouldn't just walk on by...

I pick up worm and throw them back in the grass when it rains outside. I can't stand to think of someone squishing them.

I think you must be the softest, feeliest person I pseudo know.

I got 3 finches for my mom from a friend of mine who raised them from hatchlings. Mommy Dearest wanted those birds to be "in her room" after her dog killed himself. My Mom went through some sort of teenager spurt and "forgot" to water them for a week. OF course as the laws of nature would suggest the 3 baby finches were resting peacfully, dead in a pile of dried bird shit. I made her feel like crap and have reminded her at every turn that she neglected those poor birds to death. I thought because you feel for the caterpillars you might be with me on the whole rage against Mom for killing the birds.......Let's GET her!!!!
