Farewell, old friend
I am so proud of myself, I didn't cry once. I sure give a mean hug when I'm sad that someone's leaving. Here's my favoritest picture of my pal.

Not that I need to tell you, but sometimes a good cry is just what we need in order to face the day fresh. I'm sorry he'll be so far away, but he'll be close in your memories and your heart. And, I'm sure, he'll be returning that great big hug in spades when he comes back.
Sorry to get all Oprah on you! Whoo! I'm sappy tonight. But, if it helps, there's one more person hoping for his safe return.
Thanks for the words. I'm handling it much better than expected. If anything happens to him while he's over there, I am pretty sure I'll have a mini breakdown, though.
