Mahogany Beef Stew with Red Wine and Hoisin Sauce

I will be making this for dinner tonight. With mashed potatoes. It is one of my most favorite dishes. I can't wait. :)

What the hell is "hoison sauce"?

It is Chinese, and it is so effing yummy you'll gauge your life as "before hoisin" and "after hoisin". Try it, you'll love it. Unless, of course, you hate Chinese food, in which case you'll hate it EXCEPT in this beef stew. You need to make it. Babble babble. I'm in love with this beef stew. I've made it for years and it is incredible EVERY time.

Sounds yummy - I like hoisin sauce, too.

Where is Avi, and what have you done with him?! Are you sure you like hoisin sauce?!?! Hmm. Then this is the meal I will make you (if I ever visit) to thank you for something I don't remember but do remember owing you a meal. (Man, my memory sucks.)

I marinated a steak one time in a mixture I read about that used hoisin, honey, soy, and something else. It was awesome.
