I told you I was going to be hyper, too many posts.
I'm just curious how many meetings you average a week at your job? Depending on the season I have zero, 2, 4, or 6 meetings a week. Right now I'm averaging 4, although this week I have 5 and the week of Feb 19 I had 7 (even with a day off). I love meetings because I actually follow through with my action items and make progress based on feedback from said meetings. I also really love my co-workers (they are like family to me, and some of them are my best friends in my physical life) so any chance to sit in the same room with them works for me.
What the hell is up with me and posting (oxymoronic vague details) about work lately?!

Depending on what you consider a meeting, between 5 and 30.
Considering I know what you're referring to I'm going to say that all of your "meetings" count as actual meetings, and you in fact do have 30 meetings a week. I don't envy that about you. :)
My average? Hm, around 5-10, I guess. It really depends whats going on politically at the moment.
Oh, and I like hyper Poppy! :)
I'm the low-baller! For once! Woot!
I like hyper Mel. ;)
Our dept has a weekly production meeting every Tuesday morning. Sometimes there will be other meetings during the week but nothing I'm involved with, thankfully. I'd have to clone myself if I had to attend 30 meetings a week. Well... unless there were like 5min each, then I guess I could handle it.
By the way, my word verification on that last comment was: dudwype
For some reason, I'm a little skeeved by that.
I believe I average about five meetings a YEAR. Yeah, not many meetings for me in my current position...
I'm going to say I average about 5 meetings per weeks at various jobs / schools / councils.
I hold meetings with myself for 20 minutes once a day in the mid-afternoon. Snoring meetings.
We have working meetings. Everybody brings their laptop to the meeting. The person leading the meeting plugs his (or her) laptop into this fancy digital projector, and we start reviewing the MD50 of the day (fancy term for requirements doc). We will spend four hours reviewing, discussing and editing. Then we'll continue the next day or after lunch.
Wheee!
Sour - If I had 30 meetings a week I'd go insane. I don't know how ACW does it. And that word verification? So not my fault. :)
Stef - How anti-social!
Spéncèr - I seriously hope you get enough play time in your life, because it doesn't get any easier the older you get... When I was at your point in life I had two meetings a week at the MOST, and I was involved in a ton of stuff!
Avi - What, pray tell, makes you need to snore in the middle of the day...? :) Maybe if you wore pants you wouldn't be so sleepy!
Gecko - Um. That's weird. Although, I guess we have similar sessions where people pile into my office or we pile into a cafe and we all work on a project (silently, via IM) together.
I know we already discussed this today--but I have around 15 meetings a week. I have two status meetings a day, one with all the project managers, and one with my development team. Then I have weekly status meetings with my clients, and I have five rather large accounts that I manage.
Not for long, though!!! :D
I just realized that my last sentence about managing five accounts made no sense. Sheesh.
You get my meaning, though. :)
