-- Officials at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas, say the facility is full and cannot accept any more New Orleans hurricane refugees.

People en masse are starving, scared, homeless, returning to their caveman ways. This is happening in our own (1st world!) country. I think we need a do over.

First world or third world, it is people who are affected and I am very sad. I guess this is mother nature's way of shifting and the children on her lap are affected.

L-i-T: A great way of summarizing. I am so sad, I can't look at the news or the message boards without just feeling completely deflated. I do not deal well with knowing people are in danger and there is nothing I can do to help them. I'll donate my money and supplies, but I don't have a commercial driver's license and I don't have any special skills in disaster relief, so I sit in my cushy home and *tsk*. :(
