"I'll have what she's having."

A few weeks ago Jürgen's mommy asked me if I'd ever had Swiss cheese and apple as a snack, that it is her all time favorite snack. I told her I had not, but that I would try it next time I was at the store. I went to the grocery store two weeks ago, but only bought non-perishables. Then, I went to the store again Sunday, but only to buy a 1/2 gallon of milk. Thursday I went "regular" grocery shopping and picked up one Gala, one Empire, and one Granny Smith apple. I already had the cheese because (well, to state the obvious) I'm a cheese freak so there's always cheese in my house.

This afternoon around 3:30pm I was hungry, but not meal hungry. The apples were calling to me from a basket on the island, so I decided this was the perfect opportunity to try the favorite snack of Jürgen champions. Here's a photo essay of the experience...

I told Jürgen's mom which types of apples I purchased, and she recommended Gala. So, here's my Royal Gala apple and Swiss cheese:

Mmmm, yummy... Oh, wait, no! My apple is rotten!

Alright, I guess I'll try Empire instead.

Ahh, much better! Now for the cheese!

I would have to say this now rates in the top 5 of the best snacks. Something about the salty tang of the cheese and the refreshing tarty crunch of the apple just melds together perfectly. Num! I can't wait for my next snacktime! :)

Thanks, Bryan. I always delete comments that only say "go to my site!" Second one this week, looks like the spammers finally found me. ;) As you can see, gone!

Oregano, pizza is a healthy snack! As long as you don't put pepperoni on it. Oops, that's my favorite pizza! ;)

Oh, no no no no no. P'nut, old cheddar is my absolute favorite, I can't even try that or else I will weigh twice my weight from overeating cheese!! :)

Hee! It's a good thing my doc told me to keep the cheese intake to a minimum after my kidney stone... it got to a point where I was putting Old (white if the absolute best) Cheddar on too many things and I didn't really even notice it... fruit, pie, french fries, sandwiches, burgers... you name it. My second favourite is Havarti which makes a most excellent grilled cheese sandwich, other than it's a slightly oily cheese when hot (moreso than cheddar).
