She was an American girl *

RW, I need you to chime in here at your earliest convenience please. And B?

In tonight's Top Chef episode Micah Edelstein says:
"I'm from South Africa. I've never eaten fried chicken. It's just not something that interests me in the slightest. Chicken a la King? I don't even know what that is... My reaction to American comfort food: Uuuuuuhhh!"

Would you like to say that again, Faux-Micah from Bridgewater, Massachusetts? RW, I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, but now she's just a LIAR.

*Thank you to Tom Petty for my post title.

ll she's gone anyhow and by the look of it deservedly so. I can't imagine why the whole ruse and all. Boggles my mind. What's wrong about being from Massachusetts??

Boggled.

But in the meantime I think Howie nailed it and actually made me and my wife interested in the recipe (especially since the Elks thought is was the best too). I shall now go download it thankyouverymuch!

I honestly don't know. I think Massachusetts is a wonderful state (even though someone originally from there thinks my state sucks, FAB).

Definitely good that she's kicked off the show so we don't have to be caught up in her pretend world.

Howie has staying power if he tries following the rules.

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but that's crazy that she's been lying about where she's from. How could anyonre think they could appear on a tee vee show and not have that lie exposed...Oh wait, maybe she grew up in South africa, but only moved to Massachusetts long enough to get her picture in the yearbook. I bet that's it.

No matter what, she's a liar. You can't live in America for any length of time and never have or know American comfort food.

Ack, I haven't seen it yet! Was that Micah chick the one who was crying over her kid last episode?

You know, last season they did a comfort food challenge, and one of the contestants was all, "I work in fine-dining, so I don't really know how to do comfort food. I'm going to do a surf and turf." She got kicked off.

That left me dumbfounded. I mean, how can you not know comfort food? It has nothing to do with what type of cuisine you prepare for diners, it is all about what YOU eat when you're sad/lonely/under the weather.

Sheesh.
