Airwaves

Bonjour! Coming up for air for two secs to say: My condolences again on the one year anniversary of the first tsunami that hit our friends to the East last year on this date. Your loved ones may be gone, but everything happens for a reason and I hope that you have found that reason.

The appraisal of our home happens today so Hay is staying around and I am going out to lunch with my cousins, one of which is back home for the first time since Katrina took down New Orleans, where she was attending graduate school. She returns to finish her degree this coming semester. I am so proud of her for making the tough decision to return amidst the chaos of rebuilding.

Hay and I had a very merry Christmas. We don't normally exchange gifts because we kinda just get whatever we want whenever we want it (which will change when we have unfurry kiddos ;) but the desk and chair we bought from his parents count as our gift. They match the chest of drawers and dresser we bought last year. High.class.

In addition to merriment, Hay and I have been blitzing through the house cleaning. We are not the cleanest people you'll ever meet, but let's not share that info with the appraiser. ;) Our house is fi-nal-ly clean one hour before she arrives, and we are thanking our gods that this is the case.

More soon, including photos from the various parties!

xoxo,
Poppy
