I may get zero responses, considering the date.

If you were me, because, face it, you want to be, which would you cook for Memorial day?
  • boneless chicken breast
  • boneless pork chops
  • pale ale bratwurst
  • Hebrew National hot dogs
  • herb butter angus burgers and worcestershire with garlic angus burgers
  • fried tofu, sweet onions, sweet bell peppers, and julienne carrots with yummy Chinois glaze sauce over Jasmati rice
How about dessert for Memorial day?
  • cheesecake
  • Jell-O peanut butter cup no-bake dessert
  • chocolate silk pie
  • milk chocolate chunk brownies
  • carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
  • Ben & Jerry's coffee heath bar crunch ice cream
  • plain old chocolate ice cream
It's okay to choose more than one of a main dish and a dessert but not more than two in each category. If you choose more than two then something really bad happens to the universe.

You are welcome to suggest things that aren't on the list but I am soooooo not going back to the store. :)

My choices: the herb butter angus burgers and Worcestershire with garlic angus burgers AND the chocolate silk pie OR milk chocolate chunk brownies.

Sounds yummy! I'm off to a cook-out now, actually. :D

As good as the herb butter angus burgers sound, you've got to go with brats for Memorial day. And chicken breast for those that don't eat red meat.

Chocolate chunk brownies & Ben & Jerry's for dessert.

What time am I supposed to be there? ;-)

We are having our neighbors over for filet minjon on the grill.

From your list, I would go with the pale ale bratwurst. I'm assuming this has something to do with beer, and this country just doesn't eat enough bratwurst.

Burgers and PB Cup Cake

Spénce - My stepdad now considers you a son.

Tug - Fiveish work for you? :)

Gecko - There will be no beer served. No alcohol of any sort. Very sorry to disappoint. I would love to serve filet mignon but neither Hay nor I are skilled enough at grilling to make it taste good.

Avi - :) This is why you're at the top of my phone list.

I would go for the tofu thingy, the brownies and carrot cake!!

Bearette - Yay, tofu! And Hay will love you for choosing his favorites of carrot cake and brownies.

Brats and brownies get my vote. We had some brats today, mmm.

Jen - I've decided I'm going to have a brat tonight. :D :D :D

And Mel's phoned in vote: Brats with sauerkraut for dinner and beer for dessert. ;)

My response: YAR, etc. I sure do smile a lot...

Go with the chicken breast and the chocolate chunk brownies. If your main course is going to be healthy, you have to indulge with dessert.

Is chicken still healthy if it's smothered in fancy bbq sauce?

I vote for brats and chicken, brownies and Ben & Jerrys.

I mean, duh. Ben & Jerrys.

Hey Poppy, this is my first time commenting on your blog!

Have you considered eating out tonight? Then there's no dishes and you can just hang out in the yard all day.

Then you can go for ice cream after. Mmmmm!

K, luckily I had brats the night before. Have I ever mentioned I don't actually like chicken? I don't like chicken.

Hey Jenny, I see we have The Church in common. And your idea was actually the winning idea! Yesterday morning my mom specifically asked if we could go out to dinner. We had flatbread pizza then came home and had Avi's choice of peanut butter cup dessert. Tasty!!
