States I have visited

statemap-1

I found the map at Lisa's site, although she didn't link back to where she got it from. That doesn't ever stop me, I'm a Google freak, so I found the map by googling for keywords map of places i have been and it was the first hit on the page. Yay, me! :) Anyway, the map comes from Douwe Osinga's site. Pretty neat!

The only reason I have gone so many places is because I did have a job where I travelled a lot. The first year at the job I hit 14 states (including my home state, so really 13). Very glad to no longer have a job where I travel so much, only because I never got any time to just hang out in the places, it was always 12+ hour workdays on the road, so after work was done all I had the energy to do was get some food and crash in my hotel room... Washington state, Oregon, Arizona and Texas are all states that are far away from me that I visited of my own volition. :)

My husband and I went to Washington for a wedding so we actually got to see Seattle (Experience Music Project, Space Needle), Mt. Rainier (snowfall from the side of the road was taller than me!), Mt. St. Helen's (I stole a piece, shh, don't tell anyone), the ocean coast, cranberry bogs, a hill of oyster shells. It was fabulous... Aside from all the tree stumps from people cutting down bunches of trees, it was magnificent.
