Millions pause for a moment

Millions honor London bomb victims

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Millions in Britain and around the world observed a two-minute silence Thursday to honor the victims of the London terrorist attacks as the hunt was stepped up for further bomb plot suspects and explosives.

In London as part of a massive show of defiance called by London Mayor Ken Livingstone, buses and taxis across the city stopped, airports fell silent and people came out of workplaces and homes onto the streets to remember those who died.

(Rest of story)

I'm not sure what actual good this does, but it touches my heart that so many people are taking time to remember those whose lives were lost. We need to come together, we need to work as one, we need to build and strengthen our connections with one another. We need to stop the hate, stop thinking that the world's problems are external to ourselves or our country. Ally put it so eloquently that "the world as a whole is all one group", which is obvious yet most of us seem to forget this in our daily lives.
