Despite eating like a total pig, I'm ravenous

Don't you hate that? Moi aussi.

Found this at B's blog and since she said I had to do it, here 'tis:

1. Recommend to me a movie, book, song, album, or musician

2. Ask me three questions

3. Post this on your blog so we can reciprocate

I'm curious to see if anyone leaves me a comment. The last time I asked if anyone had questions for me the only question I was asked was by now defunct blogger Oregano who asked how Hay and I met. Maybe I'm so dull that no one cares to know more about me, or maybe I'm too forthgiving so you know everything you would possibly need to know.

Book - Middlesex or The Hours or In Cold Blood or Fight Club (I could keep on going, but I'll stop there)

What is your favorite book?

What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?

What parts of the country have you lived?

1. a) The Pianist, because Adrien Brody is not only oddly hot but he nails it and you'll cry.

b) Possible Side Effects by Augusten Burroughs...dude is funny!

c) Cannonball - Damien Rice. It's poetry. And Delicate is even better.

d) Wicked, original cast recording, because it's fun.

e) Jeff Buckley, because his voice is stunning.

Three questions...hmmmmm...
1. Besides gardening, what do you do to get your hands dirty?

2. Do you have any guilty pleasures like bad television or gossip magazines?

3. What do you want to be when you grow up? (i'm especially interested in this answer since I haven't figured this out yet myself)

:)

1. I am a huge TMBG fan and love Sleeping in the Flowers. Thank you for reminding me of it, I've had quite awesome times dancing around to that song. :)

2a. Studied French in middle school through university.
2b. I have three wonderful girls: Allie, Ripley, and Georgia.
2c. Wang Chung opening for Tina Turner. I didn't want to be there. I enjoyed Wang Chung, but not TT. I was defiant about it. In the end my mom insisted I have a good time so I did.

3. Good! :)

Elsa...
1. Thanks for those recommendations, I definitely haven't read any of them!

2a. Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
2b. Blog, garden, read, watch movies, play with the kitties
2c. The northeast, but have travelled to a lot more of the country than that

Lemony...
1. Woah, very thorough. Those are all new to me, thank you!
2a. Sadly, nothing. I used to volunteer at our local shelter until I met Ripley and moved out to the country.
2b. I read a ton of celebrity blogs, have a subscription to Maxim, and watch so much junk television that it almost fills our dish drive.
2c. I think the latest grandiose idea is to be a recruitment manager. I really love being on search committees to find staff for technical positions. If not that then I want to run a companion animal haven of some sort.

Ok, I'll play.

Read "The Ruins" by Scott Smith. It's a creepy horror book by the author of "A Simple Plan".

What's so great about cheese?

What's one secret about yourself?

Why do you blog?

1. I love horror! Yay!

2a. I just love the taste of cheese, especially extra sharp cheddars. I also love the texture. I'm super texture sensitive, but cheese actually has the perfect texture for me.
2b. I enjoy a mild dose of porn. Sorry to all of you who thought I was purely wholesome. No freaky deaky shit, though.
2c. I began blogging because I was frustrated and depressed about my back injury and needed an outlet. I continue to blog because it keeps me happy, and I'm scared to find out what life will be like without this outlet anymore.

I also loved The Confederacy of Dunces - very humorous.

1. Album: Foiled by Blue October. It's a decent variety, and I'd say that songs 3, 4, 5, 7, and 13 are the best.

2. Do you wear glasses?

What's your favorite source of caffeine?

What was your first car?

3. Okay!

1. This is the best "meme", so many exciting ideas from folks!

2a. I do wear glasses. Long story long: I've worn them since I was 11. In college I wore contacts, but bad care resulted in a few permament scars to my eyes. If I look up in the sky I see all the damage done, it sucks. Hay wanted me to get Lasik in 2005, but instead I went for braces. I think now we're heading toward baby row which means no money for ourselves anymore. My mom's vision actually went from bad to 20/20 at the birth of my brother, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that baby #1 corrects my vision, too. ;)

2b. I have two favorite caffeine sources: Coffee and fountain soda Coke/Pepsi.

2c. I honestly cannot remember what it was called, but I think it was AMC or GMC brand, some tiny little car painted silver. Did you know that silver and tan are the cars most commonly in accidents? Neither did I until my car was hit while parked on a street. The accident must have been witnessed, because I received a note on my car which said, "Bumped your car, left a note." Which, yo, is worse than no note. It's humorous now, just wasn't so humorous on that dark and snowstormy night after I had closed up shop at work and there was no one else around for moral support. Wah, wah, wah. :)

I hope I don't ask a question that's already been asked!

1.

Movie: Adaptation. Meryl Streep, Chris Cooper and Nicolas Cage. Such a weird, crazy, interesting flick.

Book: Crum: The Novel, by Lee Maynard

2.

Who or what got you interested in gardening?

Would you ever own a dog?

Where did you go on your last vacation?

Poppy said...

Lil...

2a. Hay and his parents got me into gardening. His parents basically have no lawn left because there are flowers everywhere.

2b. The only reason I don't currently own a dog is because whoever says no wins and Hay said no. When we have children who are old enough to take care of a dog we will likely have one. Which gives me incentive to become a little knocked up.

2c. Last vacation... I believe it was to Florida to visit family. It's been a while...

Thanks for playing! :D
