I just finished watching Hostel. I'd like my 1 hour and 34 minutes back.
Brokeback Mountain is on its way from Netflix. Now, that's a movie I expect to be good.
My mom and stepdad came over last night to visit. I made them barbecued chicken, orzo with a bit of butter, and “all dressed”* salad. They loved it! While everyone else was seated and I was grabbing something from the kitchen Georgie lept onto the table (because that's where I give her treats everyday!) and looked very confused (no treats, just people food). Everyone laughed heartily as I picked her up and set her back down on the floor. For dessert we had cream horns and chocolate chip cookies that I did not make. All evening the cats ran around the house chasing each other, showing off for their grandma and grandpa. :) Those are my girls!
This work week has been hectic! I just don't understand it. Our busy time is supposed to be over! And yet, we're all just as busy as before if not moreso! Nuts-o-rama, man! I hope it slows down soon, I'm not sure I can take much more of this...
Oh, I pieced together that I will be missing our local balloon festival because I'll be away at a conference. I tried to figure out if I should leave the camera behind for Hay to take photos. I think that's probably the right thing to do. I mean, how interesting is a conference? Not very. How interesting is 20 balloons going over our house in the span of 30 minutes? Pretty effing exciting! :)
Britney's really pregnant with kid #2. That just slays my brain. Take a break, driver 8!# Let your Jenny+ rest a bit in between! I know this is old news, but it's taken me several days to let it soak into my brain, marinate, and allow me to formulate an opinion: Brit should not have cheated on Justin Timberlake. Destiny unfulfilled.

*In Québec “all dressed” pizza is topped with tomato sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and mozzarella cheese. My salad, however, did not contain these things. It instead contained hearts of Romaine lettuce, green pepper, red pepper, shredded carrot, cucumber, chickpea, tomato, onion, feta cheese, swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon crumble, croutons, and salad dressing. Yes, I agree, balloons would be much more fun. I love seeing a whole bunch of them together. Dick and I took a balloon ride about 4 years ago - it was so awesome.
I've seen Brokeback Mountain (pirated, with Chinese subtitles!) and thought it was good. Just don't watch it as a homoerotic film and you're set to go. It is quite the love story nonetheless.
Brokeback was OK. The dialogue wasn't exactly riveting and I was somewhat bored at the beginning... but, after they leave the mountain & return to their lives, it becomes more of a love story. I found my emotional attachment to the characters took a while to build, so about 3/4 of the way through, I felt for Jake's character. And by the end, I was sad for Heath's character. I'm interested to hear your thoughts after you've seen it.
PS - I love kitty antics, especially when you have company over!
PPS - Um. I'd like to see balloons AND the conference. The last time you went away you sorta met celebrites and you didn't offer up the goods (photos) so I don't want to miss out on whatever happens at this next thing. Even if it's just pics of your hotel room, I need SOMETHING.
Oy. I'm never going to see "Jenny" quite the same way again. I've also heard "cookie" used in that context. Britney should put her cookie away!!
