I wonder how pissed Brooke Shields is that she gave birth to a baby girl on the very same day that a baby girl was born to Katie Holmes, wife-to-be of the crazy couch jumper who slams the idea that women get depressed after having babies. Life is funny...
PS - did anyone else notice that TomKat's baby is named the middle of Tom's last name?

I can't say I'm thrilled by Tom & Katie's name choice, but then again, those Hollywood-types LOVE to name their kids weird stuff.
I'm sure their kids will grow up and be spoiled and annoying in no time.
I was thinking the same thing. I bet it is making Tom Cruise squirm, which is reward enough for me.
I don't foresee any play dates in Suri and Grier's future.

I still think it's a clever hollywood ruse like Gwyneth Paltrow. They say they named the kid something (like Apple) when REALLY they DIDN'T and named it something normal (like Thérèse) and it gets to live a nice life cause no one REALLY is sure if "Thérèse" is actually "Apple."
It's the best gift you can give a celebrity kid; anonymity and confusion in a stage name.
I must admit that I rather like the name "Suri". I can't quite explain WHY, but I do. So there. I've said it. It's finally out in the open. Do with it what you will.
I read that "Suri" means princess in Hebrew.
Poor Brooke. That would suck to share that birthday.
I have to wonder what prompted Brooke Shields to have another baby when she knows she's prone to postpartum depression? Not saying I'm against meds, because I'm not. And don't get me wrong, I like Brooke Shields and can't stand Tom Cruise. Just sayin'.
Newpeep, since post-partum depression is treatable/manageable but babies/kids last a lifetime I think she probably decided that the benefits outweighed the negatives.
I too am concerned about having post-partum depression after I give birth, so I will make sure I am working closely with my doctor. I am not willing to give up the experience of pregnancy and birth just because I might have ppd. It's situational, treatable, and (if I get it) when I get over it I'm going to be a great mom.
People think depression is shameful or they don't understand what it is, or they're so caught up in the depression that they don't tell anyone then something very drastic occurs and we label them bad people. It just doesn't need to go down that way...
