I'm not telling you what to do, but you better still like my house or I'll beat you up. Or, maybe I need to beat Hay up for “encouraging” me to agree to black gutters. But, whatever. I'm actually more freaked out that I can hear my heart beating when I wear my noise cancelling headphones. Que la f? with a side of freakando sauce!

An interesting perspective.
It screams boy/man to me, but somehow it also screams prim and proper preppy at the very same time.
That's a really nice house. I would call it more "Southern Gentleman/Lady" rather than masculine.

LOVE your house. The front porch is beautiful, and the black gutters add some really sharp lines. Looks fantastic :)
As for the headphone/heartbeat thing... I'd be purchasing new headphones if I were you! That would freak my ass out!
Eh. Thanks for your words of encouragement, which I hope you didn't leave because I threatened to beat you up. That wasn't nice.
The black will soften over time as the sun dulls it, plus we'll be planting lots of stuff around the porch, so. Yah. I just really liked the look of the house without the gutters and now it's like BAM, HEY, HELLO, HOW ARE YA? Not soft or subtle. I'll still sit out there and read, though.
Oh, MIL - if you can find my house you stop by and say hi. If Hay answers the door then run. If I answer the door you'll be getting a glass of iced tea for sitting on the porch with me. Oh, and of course you can pett the furry kittos.

Your house is gorgeous. And that's not a word I would use to describe a masculine house. Anyway, black is very chic.

I don't know, it was just one of the color choices offered to us by the contractor. Have you asked local gutter people if they have black? Our contractor offered us a ton of colors...
