aula Abdul claimed she was assaulted at a party over the weekend by a man whose name she knew, Access Hollywood has learned.
Abdul reported the alleged incident at about 9 p.m. Tuesday to the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station.
"She claimed she was at a private party on April 2 and that at 1 a.m., an argument occurred between her and a man, and that the man grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall," an LAPD spokesman told Access Hollywood Thursday. "She claimed to have suffered a concussion and spinal injuries. She saw her own doctor and at the time of the report, said she would make herself available for photographs (of her injuries)."
Police have yet to take pictures of Abdul, although they are starting to interview witnesses, the spokesman said.
Although police told Access they have a suspect, his name has not been released.
Abdul knew the man well enough to know his name, police said.
That makes me sad.
