House

Our home is this close (fingers almost touching) to being complete of its work. The gutters are not on the house, the stair railing isn't finished, and the site is still in construction mode, but to us it looks beautiful.

That's a great porch. It makes your home look bigger, and not plain (really, the front was plain before).

Money well spent, just cross your fingers your neighbors keep up, or you'll have a hard time reselling.

Well, gooolllllly! What a difference that porch makes. Bryan's right... not that it was too bad before (it just looked like windows upon windows with a door plopped into it) but it now looks architecturally interesting, plus it gives you some shade and a place to put your rocker! It looks really good!

I agree with you, it was really boring before. A porch, a roof shingle color change (to all the roofs), and a change-out of the shutters from brown to black have done an amazing job at improving the aeshetics of our home.

We have no intention of selling for many more years, until the kids are born, grown, and out on their own so we're not currently concerned with the state of the neighborhood when we sell. But, this is a very much "Keeping up with the Joneses" neighborhood so I'm not that worried. Yet. :)

Your house looks great. I envision you enjoying some ice cold lemonade on a hot day on that porch.
