Proof that Cheney's reported shooting distance is true

According to news reports, on February 11, 2006 Vice President Dick Cheney (accidentally) shot his friend, lawyer Harry Whittington, with a 28-gauge shotgun from an estimaged 30 yards away resulting in injury to Whittington's cheek, neck, and chest.

Some folks with a bit of time on their hands* did extensive testing to determine if Cheney really shot his friend from a distance. Conclusion: Yup.

*Used in the experiment: paper police silhouette targets, ballistic gelatin, dead turkeys, dead Cornish game hens, a watermelon, a Honeydew melon, and half a (dur, dead) pig. If you've never watched CSI and/or never picked up this bit of trivia, the pig is closest to the human in duplicating the results of trauma to the body, hence the clothed half pig.
