I saw a dead kitty in the road on the way to work. She looked exactly like Ripley. I couldn't stop crying. When I got to work I checked my email and found out my co-worker is coming home from Iraq for his 10 day leave. His wife said he wants to see us all and asked that I help organize a get-together. Now I'm crying for a very different reason. I'm such a weepy girl, sigh.

Yay! I'm glad he's coming home for his R&R. I wish that while he was here, though, he got the orders that he didn't have to go back!
Last November I went with some co-workers from my old job to welcome home the soldiers who were coming through DFW Airport to either stay in the Metroplex area, or get on another plane to their final destinations. I can't tell you how emotional everything was--you'd see these men walk down the hall and suddenly be greeted with a line of cheering people, thanking them for what they're doing. Then you would see fathers who hadn't seen their new sons or daughters, because they'd been born while they were in Iraq, and people everywhere were kissing and hugging. I still get teary thinking about it!
I pray that this war is over soon and everyone can come home and be with their loved ones.
And poor kitty! I hate having to come up on that....always puts a damper on my day...
