Catalog count

Total number of catalogs received in the Cede family mailbox today: e-lev-en. There's gonna be a lot of recycling to put out this week!

I get so many catalogs, and some of them are for the craziest things. When I moved into this new place (which I bought), there was a deluge of catalog mailings (along with a flood of re-fi offers). I was so appalled to see so much useless cr@p presented on so many pages. I called the 800 number for every company's catalog which I didn't want, and I asked to be removed from their mailing lists. I think I've made about 150 calls. Why would I put myself through that? Because I feel guilty just recycling the catalogs. I'd rather not just waste resources. Plus, if you remove your name from the list, they can't sell it to someone else! Bingo! I've been doing this for more than a year. Some of the places haven't yet gotten the message, and their catalogs keep coming, but most of them have. It's boring making all those calls, but I feel better for it. I'm getting tired hauling out a 50-pound recycling bin every week.

Mail-order catalogs are the best. Are the eleven due to the Google catalog site???

I don't get catalogs from a lot of different places---I just get a LOT of catalogs from a few places. LL Bean is the worst. I get at least one a week from them.
