Ingredients:
1 + 3/4 c flour, unsifted
3/4 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1/2 package Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks
3/4 to 1 c oatmeal
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
3. Beat butter and both sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low to medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
4. Gradually beat flour mixture into wet mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks and oatmeal.
5. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons (approximately 2" round balls) onto ungreased cookie sheets.
6. Bake 7 minutes, then keep an eye on the cookies until they look lightly golden, then remove to stove top. Allow to cool 1 minute then move directly to cookie racks to cool completely.
Eat warm cookies for the gooey effect. Refrigerate cookies after they are cool for the YUMMA effect. Best with an ice cold glass of skim milk.
I can't show you a photo because we don't have eggs in the house. My cookie plans are foiled again by eggs. Damn you, perishables!

Ooh la la. Does it make a difference whether you use old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats? Inquiring minds want to know.
Oh, boy. This is not the blog to visit when you are very hungry and trying not to eat halloween candy. damn you, poppy. Why? :)
I use the quick-cookers because that's what I know how to use. I don't think I've ever had old-fashioned oats. Sad, really.
These cookies are incroyable, fantastique, worthy of giving as a gift with a bow and a card that says "this is how much I care for you." I love these cookies.
NO eggs! I can relate. Daughter wanted to bake a cake so I bought the cake mix and frosting only to get home and find we had no eggs.
Now for sure I have to buy some because we have to make cookies.
Yum!
Qu'est-ce que c'est le "Yumma" effect?
It is what you exclaim while your mouth is still full of cookie because your taste buds are doing a little dance over the absolutely perfect deliciousness of what you are eating. "YUMMA!"
