El Laberinto del Fauno

Hay and I went to see Pan's Labyrinth after a half day at work today. I shall be so bold as to say it is my favorite movie that I've seen in 2007. Here's some stream of consciousness-type-nessity about the film:

Two separate and fantastic story worlds brilliantly woven into one.
Bring your reading glasses or your ear for Spanish, the dialogue is very important.
Barbaric violence, but in a fascinating way.
A perfect match of fantasy and reality.
Spectacularly realistic special effects.

I'm more than strongly urging you to not let your kids see this film. Despite its main character being a girl who spends part of her time in a fantasy land, both the reality and fantasy contain very graphic scenes.

Definitely a superb movie; I took my friends Kelly & Rae to see it. Verrrry unsuitable for minor children; even my friend Rae kept cringing, cowering, and squeezing mu hand as the film progressed. And, she's in high school.
