Because I know you like it when I tell you what's going on with me...

I either have arthritis in my big toe or I broke it. I'm guessing arthritis. Ow. :(

There's a crapload of snow coming my way. I'm quite sick of the snow already so I'm going to be in a bit of a mood tomorrow. You've been warned. I apologize in advance.

I got a promotion at work. My supervisor made an announcement to our team at our staff meeting. Didn't go well. I have been there less time than several other folks and now I am two grades ahead of all but three of them. Sorry guys, you snooze you lose. In my defense, I am more edumacated than some of them and have been in technology for a lot longer than they have. Oh, and I'm awesome. Can't forget that part. I plan to throw a work party for myself. With cake! :) *rubbing nose in it*

Hay and I very irregularly exchange gifts for holidays, Hallmark or otherwise. We had planned to buy flowers after work tomorrow, but the expected snowstorm will likely result in a distinct lack of flowers. I'm okay with that. When it's warmer I have flowers all the time. We also eat chocolate whenever we want and go to dinner whenever we feel like. What do we need a holiday for? (My birthday, on the other hand? It doesn't go well when the same philosophy is applied. The day of my birth is the only day I even slightly describe as sacred. It is, in fact, my cultural holiday.)

Oh, and there is no footage of me being drunk the other night. I know at least one of you would have paid good money for that. You'll have to save your money for another time.

Congrats on the promotion!

The thing about the big toe? Go to webmd.com ... search for gout.

I know, gout sounds like an old person's disease, but it's not. The first place gout shows up is in the big toe. No, I'm serious! Does your big toe feel like it's broken and it's hard to walk with? Well, that could be gout.

And gout is nothing to blow off. After you read about it, you'll understand. Check it out!

Congratulations! And just get a pair of scissors and cut your toe off - who needs a big toe anyways?

Congrats on the promotion!

And I agree: your birthday is totally a valid holiday.

Congratulations!!! You deserve it! Save me a piece of cake.

Try Knox NutraJoint for your toe.

Way to go on the promo, kiddo! Your jealous coworkers should just work harder to be more like you, even though that is an unattainable goal.

PS - Don't listen to Avi, big toes are very important (for balance, I think).
