Peaceful and gentle, lambs have been used in religious imagery for millennia. Lambs are baby sheep, an animal tended by shephards since the dawn of history. As a lamb, you tend to stay together in a flock and graze on grassy land. Lambs don't mind being led and tend not to go off on their own.

checked out, not on hold, just lost in the library). A wonderfully talented librarian found a copy hidden in the depths of the stacks. I picked it up at about 3:30pm today, just too excited to wait until after work. I then did wait until after work to read it, finishing it in less than two hours. I now want to quit my job and help abused children. I probably won't follow through with this, but I am just so horrified by the statistic that 1 in 5 American children is physically, mentally, or sexually abused.

In November 1982, when Smith was in fifth grade, she wrote to Soviet leader Yuri Andropov, trying to understand why the relations between the Soviet Union and the USA were so tense:
Her letter was published in the Soviet newspaper Pravda and on April 25, she received a response from Andropov:
whether or not he was going to bed when he said "that girl looks just like...that woman who was in that movie with Dakota Fanning." I asked, "Brittany Murphy?" to which he responded, "yah, yah yah yah yah!" And, you know, he's right. When Janelle squints she looks just like Brittany!RIAA sued by victim
A woman who was sued by the Recording Industry of America for file-sharing has countersued the outfit for hacking.
Tanya Andersen, a 41-year old disabled single mother living in Oregon, has countersued the RIAA for Oregon RICO violations, fraud, invasion of privacy, abuse of process, electronic trespass, violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, negligent misrepresentation. She is claiming hurt feelings and "outrage", and deceptive business practices.
According to court documents here, Anderson said the record industry has been abusing the law courts and waged a public relations and public threat campaign targeting file sharing. (Source/rest)

It's Not All Poppy, Poppy, Poppy, you know.
'Stalker' Breaks Into Enya's Mansion
Reclusive Irish singer Enya spent a terrifying two hours hiding in the panic room in her Dublin home, when an alleged stalker broke into the mansion to look for her.
Police officers have revealed the star's maid was tied up by the intruder, who searched Enya's Manderlay castle in the city suburb of Killiney for two hours, before escaping with several of the singer's possessions after she activated an alarm.
Cops say the scary incident took place six weeks ago, only a week after an Englishman was arrested on the grounds of Enya's home.
In 1996, a 31-year-old Italian stabbed himself outside the County Donegal pub, owned by the singer's parents. (Source)

"I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help -- with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off, as slow as possible. I mean, the Red Cross is doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way -- and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us!"
