American Idol Season 4, Week 17: Nashville / Gamble & Huff

Down to the wire!

Not really a nail biter tonight, but a bit confusing. Two things to watch for: Vonzell's first performance and Carrie's second song compared to Anthony's second song...

Here's a play list:

Sounds of Nashville (country)

1. Carrie - Sin Wagon, Dixie Chicks
Seemed kinda characterish. I love the Dixie Chicks version, didn't care for Carrie's rendition.

2. Bo - It's A Great Day To Be Alive, Travis Tritt
No? Yes? Dunno.

3. Vonzell - How Do I, Trisha Yearwood
She said she had a hard day today, and started crying when the judges talked to her. I hope all is well. Hate to see her cry, but it makes me love her even more that she shows her emotion to us, beautiful and graceful even when she's having a tough time.

4. Anthony - I'm Already There, Lonestar
Pass. Didn't do anything for me.

Philly - Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff

1. Carrie - If You Don't Know Me By Now, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes
I liked it, hubby said it was flat, Simon thought it was horrible but that it was the *band's* fault.

2. Bo - For the Love of Money, The O'Jays
Yep, the theme to The Apprentice. Did a good job! But, um, the shades looked stupid.

3. Vonzell - Don't Leave Me This Way, Thelma Houston.
Beautiful! Okay, can we please just crown her the winner now?!?!

4. Anthony - If You Don't Know Me By Now, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes
Nope, not an error. He's doing the same song as Carrie. Still having trouble with the camera, but the voice was good on this. Hubby thinks it's the best A's ever done. Simon to the band: "That was a better arrangement, guys." Hmm, shouldn't it be the very same arrangement? Too bad the band wasn't consistent tonight!

We're voting for: Vonzell and Anthony.

I think Carrie should have done Goodbye Earl. Vonzell's second song was on, dawg!
