fried green tomatoes (or, not)

Has anyone had fried ravioli (cheese version)? Can you tell me what it's like before I venture into that culinary adventure? The idea of bread crumbs and pasta seems so odd to me. And then you fry it!! I bet it's delicious, it's just weird sounding.

I haven't had it, but it sounds good...with some sour cream on top and maybe fried onions.

They are tasty... serve with a nice marinara sauce. Apparently they are a delicacy in St. Louis

When I went to law school in Saint Louis, I had them for the first time and really enjoyed them.

They're crispy and tasty and now I want some.

raviolis... delicacy... St. Louis...

wonderful!

If you are breading them yourself, make sure the raviolis are done-done. And fry them at high enough temps to cook just the coating, not the ravioli, as you don't want your noodle and cheese to absorb the oil.

(or just follow the directions on the package...)

Sounds good but I have never had them...let me know how they are when you try them.

I don't eat much fried food, but I always, ALWAYS make an exception for fried ravioli. Sheer heaven... with just the right marinara sauce. Yum, yum, yum!

Oh, now I'm craving ravioli. Gah.

we never used to coat them in anything, just fry the fresh ravioli in hot olive oil so the pasta gets both cooked through and crispy. and no breadcrumbs to hold the oil.
hmmm, i agree, now i'm hungry
