No clever title for this post.

I got a Tetanus booster shot yesterday and I wasn't sure I was going to make it through my day. I was super exhausted, and at 9:00pm I realized how much my arm ached from the shot. At least it didn't hurt going in, but there are some scary stories online about reactions to the shot. My advice: Either read the stories ahead of time and make the decision not to be vaccinated, or skip the stories on the other end lest you be freaked out that you're about to be paralyzed, in extreme pain, and forget who you are.

I'm glad you're alive and know who you are!

Did something happened that required you to need a tetanus shot?! Hope you're ok! I had 1 in college - arm ached for a few days. No other reaction that I remember! (I had stitches at the same time - hence - stitches on 1 side (finger) & shot in the other arm! Double whammy!

my arm hurt after a flu shot. i think it's the whole needle going in arm thing that causes the ache. i heard tetanus shots hurt more than others though, but it seems as though you're holding up well.

Never, ever search the Internets for medical stuff. This said by a woman who did just that regarding an upcoming surgery.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Why did you get it?

It was a TdaP/DTaP (whatever) combo vaccine and I got the shot because my health care provider considers me at higher exposure risk for Pertussis, and I was somewhere near the 10-year limit for the Tetanus. I didn't step on a nail or anything like that, just got it cuz the cool kid told me to.

Oh, yeah, those tetanus shots really ache. But not as bad as stepping on the proverbial rusty nail that is usually the reason for getting the tetanus shot.

When I was 14 I actually had a rusty nail go into my big toe. I was doing flippy-somersault-acrobatics and landed on it, but my foot was numb from the coldness of the basement I was in so I didn't feel it at all -- going in or when my dad pulled it out. So, in my case, the shot actually does hurt worse than the nail. :)

I get a Tetanus booster shot every ten years...along with boosters for my other vaccines. The Tetanus always hurts but I figure it is better than getting sick from a rusty something.
