as promised

Dumpster photos:

Some of the neighborhood kids came by yesterday and wanted to use the wood on top to build a fort. :( That wood is just holding stuff in there because it's been very windy lately. That's $100 in wood that Hay is not willing to part with. Understandable. If it's still just sitting around when the house is sold we'll give it to the kids. :) (And by then they probably won't want it, oh well.)

Holy. SHIT!

I cleaned out an entire house, basement and GARAGE and didn't use that big of a dumpster! That's ginormous!

Surely the picture just makes it look bigger...

Bearette, yes.

Britt, I believe it's 8 ft. wide by 20 (30?) ft. long.

Now that's a dumpster. When my house was reroofed and they had to pull off the old roof and the two roofs on top of it and the fourth (illegal) roof on top of the those three, the dumpster was only half that size.

The dumpster isn't as tall as you might think, it has a wide footprint but is short. To be geeky (as I put a tape measure to it) it's about 6'x20'x3.5'(inside dimension). 20 yards.

Sadly Poppy took the photo facing south so you don't see the Eiffel tower behind the dumpster. We see it so often from our porch that we forget how much folks get a kick out of seeing it in photos.

Surprisingly, most folks don't expect a view of the Eiffel tower from a suburb. Oh well, as our wine inebriated neighbor is so fond of saying..."C'est la vie"

When we moved to New England we had a dumpster here at the house and there was an old, rather clean toilet in it. I had a few fireworks and had plans to blow the thing up and tape it, HOWEVER, divine intervention prevented that. =( Le sad.

Blah. metric sucks. Always makes things look bigger, like "hey lookie me! I'm going 60 km/hr!!!!"

We had 800-GOT JUNK to come out here and we filled up most of one of their medium-sized trucks - it was about $350 for them to come to us, load it all up and take it away.

Wow that is a lot of dumpster to fill. Are you finding it hard to part with all that stuff or is it more freeing?

The "French" countryside is beautiful.

TOG, yah, it's freakin' huge.

Hay, you funny.

¡Hola Chico!, you and your damn toilet hijinks... ;)

sudo whall, that is an awesome price! I wish that had been our price!

Jen, last but not least, very sorry. No, it is incredibly easy to part with all that shit. I never wanted it anyway.

I was wondering how I missed the news that you're selling your house, but I see Bearette missed it, too. I won't ask you to elaborate; I figure you'll explain if you want to in time.

OK, you weren't kidding when you said the "ginormousest dumpster". That thing is freakin' massive. But the question is: Will all you intend to depart with fit within it?

Stef, I haven't talked about it. :-/

Sour, the dumpster left yesterday morning so I sure hope so.
