General Tso's Tofu

Thanks to Slashfood for the recipe which I modified in the following ways: tofu replaces chicken; no egg used for the tofu coating; added only 1 tsp red pepper; mixed 4 Tbsp water with 1 tsp corn starch and 2 Tbsp brown sugar to add sweetness and extra thickness to the sauce.

General Tso's tofu, jasmati rice, fried rice

The white rice is jasmati. The fried rice is jasmati, Kikkoman spice packet, bacon, sweet onion, and egg (directions from the Kikkoman package).

And, since I didn't use chicken in the recipe, here's a bit of chicken for your viewing pleasure:

Ahhh, I love that show...

Curried lentils?

Avi, look away. Now.

Does anyone (else) have a tried and true recipe for curried lentils? I had some the other day from a cafe and they knocked my double-thick socks across the room. I am not a big meat eater* on a regular basis, so I'd like to add more meat alternative dishes to my culinary repertoire. I normally eat chickpea curry, but lentils are equally severely good for you!

Also, I'd love a great samosa recipe. Aside from vegetable fried rice, samosas are the only dish containing peas that I'll eat without picking the little buggers out. Squishy eyeballs of the pod! Blech.

*I love steak and hamburger. I was raised on beef, rice, and Coca-Cola. But I'm not really crazy for other meats on a regular basis, and I can only have cow so many days in a row.
